This is a blog devoted to the mundane daily activities of my pal, Steve. I've known Steve for over twenty years, which means that he's my oldest friend. We met at a party on a Saturday afternoon. It was February or March, and, probably, overcast. It was always overcast in the 1980s. Steve's favourite videogame was called "Berserk."

Super Bowl XL: A West Coast Perspective

I asked Steve to keep a detailed and accurate account of his Super Bowl experience on the west coast. It made me feel closer to him for three
long, long, long hours of dropped balls, questionable officiating, and uninvolved fans. Here it is, for your analysis and dissemination. (Note: all times are Pacific Standard, whatever that is.)

1 p.m. Check in on Superbowl -- pre-game show still on.

2 p.m. Check in on Superbowl -- pre-game show still on.

3 p.m. Check in on Superbowl -- pre-game show still on.

3:40 p.m. Check in on Superbowl. Superbowl has started! Watch half of the first quarter, then go out and cut off tree limb that fell during wind storm. Talk to my brother-in-law. Go back inside and get started on dinner.

Start watching Superbowl again. Catch the last two minutes of the first half. Close game.

Watch half-time show. Wonder how many times The Rolling Stones have sung Satisfaction. Where did all the young people come from?

Watch first couple minutes of third quarter. Not good for Seattle. Eat dinner consisting of Cornish Hen, Potatoes and Yams.

Watch more of game. Seattle comes back. Game is close again, getting interesting. Oops, Seattle blows it, game becomes less interesting. Spend most of the fourth quarter playing with Ava with the game on the the background.

Seattle loses, slit wrists.

That last bit is metaphorical, I think.
