Aluminum shafts
Met Steve at the Duke of Gloucester last night. We were originally planning to meet at 8:00 p.m., but Steve just sold his car, and the guy who bought it didn't have a licence for it yet, so he had to drive it up to Jane and Finch. He then had to go back home to collect his Canadian-flag darts. So we met at 8:30 instead, except that Steve was a little late, but who cares? It's not a race. It's not a fashion show or a popularity contest either. It's a night out with friends.
A bunch of son-of-a-bitch patrons were hogging the dart boards, so Steve and I didn't get on till late, and we had only one game, and were pretty lubed up. Steve won. I lost. And now I doubt myself. It's O.K., though, because Steve gave me a present: the memoir of a loyal Boleshevik revolutionary. All power to the factory committees!
Anyway, the big news is that Steve bought new aluminum shafts for his darts. They replace the earlier plastic shafts and result in a truer flight. From what I can tell, they've had no effect on our game.
