This is a blog devoted to the mundane daily activities of my pal, Steve. I've known Steve for over twenty years, which means that he's my oldest friend. We met at a party on a Saturday afternoon. It was February or March, and, probably, overcast. It was always overcast in the 1980s. Steve's favourite videogame was called "Berserk."

This is a picture of Steve enjoying a pint of beer. Posted by Hello

Steve and I went to the Blue Meaney for a drink tonight. We met at 5:00 p.m., although Steve was a bit late. Usually I'm the one who's late, so it was a refreshing change. We drank a couple pints of Black Oak Ale and shared a plate of nachos. We had a good chat. Steve gave me a hard time when he first came in about not knowing a song that was playing on the Galaxie music station. It was by The Specials and, frankly, I was unconcerned about not knowing it.

We talked about the impending birth of his child, and his excitement about becoming a father. We talked about a sweater I was wearing, about friends from London, about Devo and other eighties-era new-wave bands, and about upcoming events and plans. We joked and shot the shit. I took a picture of Steve, which I will post directly. The people behind us, four young male executives and one young female executive, all of whom enjoyed the music of The Tragically Hip, spoke very loudly, to the point where Steve felt he should say something to them. He didn't.

Eventually Steve had to leave to join a staff party at Seven Numbers, so we walked over there together and chatted some more. Then we wished each other well and parted company.
